SHIFT AVAILABILITY
This is a flexible temporary contract where shifts are provided in line with production requirements.
Shift availability may be confirmed at short notice, including:
Same-day confirmation for a night shift
Confirmation for the following day’s day shift
Candidates must therefore be flexible and available to accept shifts at short notice. Although hours cannot be guaranteed, we aim to provide successful candidates with at least three shifts per week, and additional shifts may be available during busier periods.
THE ROLE
As a Food Production Operative, your responsibilities will include:
Working on a fast-paced food production or packing line
Preparing, handling, packing and checking food products
Ensuring products meet required quality and specification standards
Following standard operating procedures and production instructions
Completing production and quality checks accurately
Monitoring ingredients, stock levels and waste within your working area
Carrying out basic machine operating duties where required
Keeping workstations clean, organised and hygienic
Following strict food hygiene, health and safety, and quality procedures
Working effectively with colleagues to achieve daily production targets
Reporting any quality, machinery or safety concerns to the relevant supervisor
THE PERSON
The successful candidate will:
Be reliable, punctual and flexible regarding shift availability
Be comfortable receiving shifts at short notice
Be able to work 12-hour day and night shifts
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced and repetitive production environment
Have excellent attention to detail and a strong awareness of hygiene
Be able to follow instructions and work safely at all times
Have a positive attitude and work well as part of a team
Be physically capable of standing for extended periods and completing manual handling duties
Previous food production, manufacturing, packing or FMCG experience would be advantageous, although full training may be provided to candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.
