Are you a precision Finish Joiner with expertise in architectural acoustic panel installations looking for high-rate work in County Durham?
Search Consultancy is recruiting a skilled 2nd Fix Joiner for an ongoing commercial project in Durham. Paying a competitive £23.00 per hour (CIS), this role is tailored for a detail-oriented woodworker who takes pride in high-end internal finishes, detailed wall claddings, and acoustic timber paneling systems.
If you hold a valid Blue or Gold CSCS card, own your own high-spec finish tools, and want stable, top-rate contract work with an established main contractor, we want to hear from you.
Your Role & Responsibilities
Working alongside interior fit-out supervisors and drylining teams, you will deliver high-specification internal joinery finishes:
Acoustic Panel Installation: Measuring, cutting, scribing, and installing high-grade timber, slat, and micro-perforated acoustic wall and ceiling panel systems strictly to architectural drawings.
Sub-Frame & Battening Prep: Building precise timber or metal sub-framing, ensuring backings are plumb, level, and fitted with acoustic insulation materials prior to panel mounting.
2nd Fix Joinery: Executing detailed finish joinery, including flush doorsets, architraves, skirtings, feature linings, and bespoke reception panelling where required.
Precision Fitting & Mitres: Delivering clean, tight joints, seamless shadow gaps, and hidden fixing systems to high aesthetic standards.
Tool & Material Care: Handling high-value finish materials with extreme care to prevent surface damage, keeping working areas clean, and maintaining fine dust extraction systems.
What We're Looking For
To satisfy commercial fit-out rules and site access standards, applicants must possess:
CSCS Card: A valid Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Advanced Craft / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Joinery) CSCS card is strictly mandatory.
Trade Expertise: Proven track record in 2nd fix finish joinery, specifically with experience fitting acoustic wall/ceiling panels or high-end architectural wall linings.
Tools & Kit: Full 110V or cordless 2nd fix kit (plunge saw, track saw, mitre saw, nailers, laser levels, fine hand tools) and standard 5-point PPE.
Transport: Reliable transport to reach the project site in Durham daily.
Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
