How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Payroll Associate (Part Time/Full Time - Accountancy Practice)

    Location: Bath (on street parking available)
    Part-time (approx. 24 hours per week) or Full-time considered
    Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 FTE

    An established accountancy practice based in Bath is seeking an experienced Payroll Associate to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with previous accountancy practice experience who enjoys managing a varied client portfolio and delivering a high-quality service.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for processing and managing payrolls for a diverse range of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent customer service throughout.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
    Submitting RTI returns and ensuring HMRC compliance
    Managing SSP, SMP and other statutory payments
    Administering workplace pensions and auto-enrolment
    Handling payroll queries from clients
    Maintaining payroll records and reports
    Managing payroll deadlines and ensuring timely deliveryFor candidates seeking a full-time position, there may also be opportunities to support bookkeeping, accounts and wider practice administration duties.

    About You

    To be considered, you will have:

    Previous payroll experience gained within a UK accountancy practice
    Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, RTI and payroll legislation
    Experience with pensions and auto-enrolment
    Excellent organisational and communication skills
    High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
    Confidence using payroll software and Microsoft Office - Experience with IRIS Staffology, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or CIS reporting would be advantageous.What's on Offer?
