How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

    Shepton Mallet | £51,500 | Continental Shift Pattern

    Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a new challenge with a well-established manufacturer? We are recruiting for an experienced engineer to join a fast-paced production facility in Shepton Mallet, offering an excellent salary, a continental shift pattern, and the opportunity to work with modern manufacturing equipment.

    The Role

    As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of production machinery through planned preventative maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns. Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you will help maximise plant uptime while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery.
    Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
    Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
    Fault find on PLC-controlled machinery.
    Work on conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics.
    Support continuous improvement projects to improve reliability and efficiency.
    Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
    Accurately complete maintenance documentation using the CMMS.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Apprentice trained or hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering.
    Multi-skilled with both electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
    Previous experience within a manufacturing, FMCG or production environment.
    Confident fault finding on automated machinery.
    Knowledge of PLC fault finding would be advantageous.
    Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
