How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Graduate RF Support Engineer
Cambridge | Hybrid (3 -5 days on site)
    £30k - £35k

Are you technically curious with a background in RF or electronics, and enjoy breaking down complex issues?
Do you like diagnosing issues, digging into hardware and software, and seeing a problem through to resolution?

We're supporting an innovative technology company operating in the defence, government and telecom sectors, currently going through a period of strong growth. They're looking for a technically sound Graduate RF Support Engineer to join their Cambridge team, providing first-line support across a product line that spans specialist hardware and software.

    What you'll be doing:

Providing first-line technical support to customers on an industry leading hardware/software product line, covering signal and sensor technology, analysis tooling, and network diagnostics.
Explaining complex technical issues and solutions clearly to customers.
Diagnosing and resolving issues first-hand, escalating where necessary.
    Reviewing and developing technical documentation.
Working closely with engineering teams to feed back on recurring or complex issues.
What this isn't - Just a technical support role where you respond to tickets in a message. You'll be wired in, simulating issues to fix bugs/problems and working first hand on complex technologies, as well as working closely with the development and sales teams to ensure product lines, both existing and in development, are up to scratch and problem free. As such, a background in electronics/RF technology is essential for this position.

    What we're looking for:

    Good grounding in RF fundamentals.
A curiousmindset with a passion for technology (this could be shown through employment or hobbies)
Comfortable working hands-on with both hardware and software.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail for non-technical audiences.
Broader RF specialisms (e.g. signal-location techniques, wider analysis experience). desirable
Prior support or helpdesk experience. desirable
Basic exposure to Linux and networking. desirable
Keen to express your interest, ro find out more?
