One of the largest Social Care recruitment agencies is seeking an Experienced Social Worker (Grade I) to join its Children’s Social Care team, specialising in Child Protection and Court Work. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to play a key role in safeguarding vulnerable children, supporting families, and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a complex caseload involving Child Protection, Children in Need, Court Proceedings, and Children Looked After.
* Complete high-quality assessments, care planning, and risk management in line with statutory guidance.
* Prepare detailed reports for court, child protection conferences, reviews, and other statutory meetings.
* Work closely with legal teams and represent the local authority within court proceedings as required.
* Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings and safeguarding processes.
* Build effective relationships with children, families, carers, and partner agencies.
* Maintain accurate and timely case records.
* Promote permanence, stability, and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Essential Requirements
* Professional qualification in Social Work:
* Diploma in Social Work
* BA/BSc in Social Work
* MA in Social Work
* Or equivalent recognised Social Work qualification
* Registered with Social Work England.
* Considerable experience within Children's Social Care.
* Significant experience of:
* Child Protection work
* Court proceedings and Public Law processes
* Child Protection Conferences
* Reviews for Children Looked After
* Strong awareness and understanding of safeguarding and child protection legislation.
* Excellent assessment, analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.

You will be an experienced and resilient Social Worker with a strong background in Child Protection and Court work. You will be confident in managing complex cases, working collaboratively with partner agencies, and making informed decisions that place the child's welfare at the centre of practice.
