We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Transport Planner to join a busy and fast-paced transport operation in Stoke on Trent.
Key Responsibilities of this Transport Planner:
* Produce and manage daily transport resource plans to ensure customer requirements are met.
* Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers effectively to maximise operational efficiency.
* Monitor transport operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain service levels.
* Manage driver availability, annual leave and agency requirements.
* Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
* Support transport administration, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure all planning activities are carried out in line with company procedures and legislative requirements.
Skills and Experience Required for this Transport Planner:
* Previous experience within a transport planning or resource planning role.
* Strong geographical knowledge and route planning capability.
* Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
* Experience using TachoMaster and Paragon systems is essential.
* Strong communication and organisational skills with a customer-focused approach.
