How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    KS1 Teaching Assistant
    Nottingham City Centre, NG1 (commutable from Sneinton, Mapperley, West Bridgford, Carlton, Beeston)
    £110-£120 per day
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

    Long Term Futures is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nottingham City Centre from September 2026.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting children during the early stages of their primary education. Working alongside experienced teachers, you will help create an engaging and nurturing learning environment, supporting pupils to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills they need to flourish both academically and socially.

    The school is looking for someone who is patient, proactive and committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.

    About the Role

    As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

    Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1, working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons
    Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics
    Reinforce classroom learning through creative, practical and interactive activities
    Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND where appropriate
    Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence, confidence and resilience
    Assist with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources
    Monitor pupil engagement and progress, providing feedback to the class teacher
    Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues to support children's developmentThis is a varied role that offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to children's educational journey during this important stage of learning.

    Ideal Candidate Profile

    Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school
    Experience supporting Key Stage 1 pupils is desirable
    Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous
    Knowledge of phonics programmes such as Little Wandle or Read Write Inc. is beneficial
    Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable
    Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
    Caring, reliable and committed to a long-term role
