About the Company
Our client is one of the UK's leading hire companies, supplying a wide range of welfare units, small plant, tools and specialist equipment to customers across the construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Welfare Fitter to join their expanding engineering team.
The Role
As a Welfare Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's fleet of welfare units and associated equipment is maintained to the highest standard. Working both independently and as part of a skilled engineering team, you will carry out planned maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs to minimise downtime and ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and ready for hire.
Key Responsibilities
Service, maintain and repair welfare units and associated equipment.
Carry out routine maintenance on 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using a logical approach.
Complete repairs efficiently to minimise equipment downtime.
Attend customer breakdowns and carry out on-site repairs where possible.
Inspect equipment before and after hire to ensure it meets safety and company standards.
Complete all service documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Maintain company tools, vehicle and workshop equipment to a high standard.
Provide excellent customer service when working on customer sites.What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Welfare Fitter, Small Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Engineer, Generator Engineer or in a similar engineering role.
You will also have:
Experience servicing and repairing small plant, welfare units, generators or similar equipment.
Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous.
A proactive and organised approach to maintenance and repairs.
The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
A full UK Driving Licence.What's on Offer
