We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a specialist secondary academy in West London.This full-time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people within a supportive and well-resourced educational setting.
The school provides education for students aged 11-19, combining a broad, engaging curriculum, strong pastoral support, and a focus on personal development. The academy also benefits from modern specialist facilities for Design Technology and Food Technology.
The Role
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging, practical lessons that develop students cooking, nutrition, food preparation, and life skills. You will foster a positive learning environment that promotes confidence, independence, and achievement while supporting a range of learning and social, emotional, and mental health needs
Key Responsibilities for Food Technology Teacher
Deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Develop schemes of work that promote creativity, healthy living and practical food skills.
Monitor student progress, providing feedback and targeted support.
Maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance, and achievement.
Ensure a safe and well-managed Food Technology learning environment.
Support curriculum development and enrichment activities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals to enhance student outcomes.
About You
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Have experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
Engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
