What we’re looking for

Experienced gearbox fitters, OR
*
Skilled mechanical fitters with strong experience working on rotating parts, assemblies, shafts, bearings, couplings or similar precision components.
Key Responsibilities
*
Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding industrial gearboxes and rotating equipment
*
Mechanical fitting, assembly and alignment of shafts, bearings, seals and associated components
*
Fault‑finding, diagnosing wear, damage or failure modes
*
Completing detailed service reports, measurements and documentation
*
Working to tight tolerances and engineering drawings
*
Supporting onsite service work including breakdowns, installations and commissioning
*
Ensuring all work meets safety, quality and customer standards
*
Collaborating with engineering, machining and service teams to deliver high‑quality repairs
Qualifications & Experience
*
Apprenticeship‑trained (Mechanical)
*
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering / Maintenance
*
Strong background in fitting, assembly or rotating machinery
*
Ability to read engineering drawings and work to precise tolerances
*
Full UK driving licence (for onsite work)
