How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Mathematics Teacher
    Contract Type: Full-time, long-term temporary
    Start Date: 8 September 2026
    Location: Barnet, London, UK
    Salary: £37,870–£56,154 per annum, M1–UPS3

    Salary will be determined according to experience and position on the applicable Outer London teacher pay scale.

    Inspire Confidence in Mathematics

    Teach Now is recruiting an ambitious Mathematics Teacher for a successful secondary school in Barnet.

    The school is seeking a Mathematics Teacher who can make challenging concepts accessible and help students develop confidence, accuracy and problem-solving skills. You will teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of KS5 teaching depending on experience.

    You will join a collaborative department with shared resources, established schemes of work and a clear focus on raising achievement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Planning and delivering engaging Mathematics lessons

    Teaching across KS3 and KS4

    Preparing students effectively for GCSE examinations

    Using assessment to identify gaps and inform future teaching

    Providing suitable support and challenge for all learners

    Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and presentation

    Contributing to departmental planning and moderation

    Supporting revision, intervention and enrichment activities

    Requirements

    Candidates must have:

    Qualified Teacher Status

    Recent experience teaching Mathematics in a UK secondary school

    Secure subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4

    An understanding of current GCSE Mathematics requirements

    Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills

    Effective planning, assessment and communication

    Availability for the full duration of the placement
