How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Business Development Manager - Air & Ocean Freight

    Salary: Negotiable, depending on candidate experience.

    Job Description

    As a key member of our commercial team, you will:

    Build and maintain strong, long‑term customer relationships.

    Develop and manage an active sales pipeline—identifying, progressing, and securing new business opportunities.

    Collaborate closely with product and pricing teams to create competitive value propositions.

    Independently manage customer appointments and on‑site visits.

    Maintain all appointments and opportunities in the CRM system, ensuring high data quality and strict adherence to sales KPIs.

    Prepare and share detailed customer visit reports internally.

    Follow customer onboarding processes and support the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational excellence.

    Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder networks.

    Attend UK sales meetings and other internal company meetings as required.

    Participate in weekly strategy meetings with the Commercial Manager (via Teams or face‑to‑face).

    Candidate Profile

    To be successful in this role, you should have:

    A minimum of 5 years' experience in a commercial sales role.

    Strong commercial awareness of customers and industries within Air & Ocean Freight.

    Proven experience in Air & Ocean sales and operations.

    The ability to develop value‑adding, tailored customer solutions.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.

    A highly organised, self‑motivated, and target‑driven mindset.

    A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

    Experience preparing professional client proposals and quotations.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

    The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

    A valid UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
