How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer

    Edinburgh

    Salary: Up to £52,000 + Excellent Benefits

    NT Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be partnering with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where you'll play a key role in ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing equipment and plant.

    Respond quickly to electrical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.

    Maintain and repair motors, drives, control panels, sensors, PLC-controlled machinery and associated equipment.

    Support continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment performance, reliability and efficiency.

    Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and commissioning activities.

    Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures and Health & Safety legislation.

    Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site's CMMS system.

    Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and achieve operational targets.

    What We're Looking For

    Essential

    Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).

    Previous experience within an electrical maintenance role in manufacturing, FMCG, production, industrial or logistics environments.

    Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

    Experience working on PLC-controlled machinery.

    Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

    A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a shift engineering team.

    Desirable

    18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

    Experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi PLC systems.

    Exposure to automated production or packaging equipment.

    IOSH or other Health & Safety qualifications.
