Location: London | Hybrid - Monday to Thursday in the office. Friday work from home
Salary: £85,000 - £95,000 depending on experience

A fast-growing AI SaaS company is looking for an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead and grow a Data Engineering function within AI SaaS environment

This is a senior leadership opportunity with a clear path to Head of Data Engineering as you build your knowledge of the business, its products and customers.

You'll lead a small team of Data Engineers, take ownership of delivery and work directly with external customers. Although primarily a leadership role, you'll need the technical depth to review SQL and code, challenge technical decisions and provide guidance when required.

What you'll be doing
·Lead, mentor and develop a team of Data Engineers.
·Own delivery, priorities and engineering standards.
·Manage customer relationships and translate requirements into practical solutions.
·Review SQL, code and technical approaches.
·Work closely with Product, AI and Engineering teams.
·Improve processes, quality and ways of working.
·Support the continued growth of the Data Engineering function.

What you'll bring
·Experience leading or managing Data Engineering teams.
·Strong people management and mentoring skills.
·Excellent SQL knowledge, with Python and modern data platform experience.
·Experience delivering customer-facing data products or solutions.
·Confidence working with external customers and senior stakeholders.
·A decisive, commercially aware and delivery-focused approach.
·SaaS, product-led, start-up or scale-up experience would be beneficial.
