How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Jazz Product Coordinator

    About the role

Presto Music is looking for an enthusiastic music fan to join our team as a Jazz Product Coordinator. The role will support the day-to-day running and development of our online jazz department, helping to ensure that new releases across CD, vinyl, downloads and streaming are presented accurately and attractively on our website and in our apps.

You will work with product information, images, descriptions, track listings and genre classifications, as well as creating and publishing our weekly jazz newsletter and refreshing promotional content across the department. You will also liaise with labels, suppliers, PR agencies and artists to gather information and assets for new releases.

Our jazz department also covers blues, folk, global music and related genres including soul, funk, hip-hop and electronica, so an interest in a broad range of music would be beneficial.

You will also have opportunities to contribute to our editorial coverage, including new-release features and our Recording of the Week reviews. Previous professional writing experience is not essential, as support and guidance will be provided.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to take their first steps into the recorded music industry and learn more about how music is brought to market behind the scenes.

    Key responsibilities

    • Product and catalogue management
    • We continuously add new releases to the jazz department, often initially with only basic product information. Responsibilities will include:
    • Sourcing correct, high-resolution album cover images
    • Adding artist details to our database
    • Adding and checking track listings
    • Adding product descriptions
    • Assigning the correct genres and subgenres
    • Linking digital products to their physical equivalents
    • Collating review snippets and award citations and adding to albums
    • Ensuring new releases are presented accurately and consistently across the website
    • Monitoring supplier and label communications to identify relevant new releases, emerging artists and potential opportunities for promotion or editorial coverage

    Newsletter and website merchandising

    • Creating and publishing the weekly jazz newsletter using our email marketing platform
    • Helping to select products, offers and features for the newsletter
    • Refreshing banners and promotional content across the jazz department
    • Responsible for the presentation of new releases and catalogue titles
    • Supporting the presentation of promotions on the website

    Editorial content

    • Responsible for jazz articles and new-release features, including Recording of the Week reviews, with support from the editorial team
    • Helping to identify suitable albums, artists and subjects for editorial coverage
    • Helping to arrange and support artist interviews

    Industry liaison

    • Communicating with suppliers, record labels, PR agencies and artists about new releases
    • Gathering product information, images and other promotional assets
    • Developing positive working relationships with music-industry contacts

    Wider product support

Assisting with Classical and Sheet Music product management when required

    About you

    • We are looking for someone who has:
    • A genuine enthusiasm for jazz and recorded music, with the curiosity to explore unfamiliar artists and styles
    • An active interest in new releases and the wider music scene, including blues, folk, global music, soul, funk, hip-hop and electronica
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Confidence using computers and learning new systems
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, including Docs and Sheets
    • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage several tasks at once
