How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About ABP:

    The Role: Project Controller

    Location: Flexible - any one of our 21 ports but, ideally, Cardiff, Immingham, Southampton, London, Ipswich or Hull


    Purpose:

    To develop, maintain and manage robust project schedules, providing accurate progress reports to support informed decision-making across multidisciplinary project teams.


    APB’s projects are developed in both central and regional contexts and this role will deliver in strong collaboration across all regions and functions. This is critical to ensure we adapt to the local context and leverage the resources and expertise available.


    Individual project CAPEX values typically range from £50K to in excess of £5M


    Accountabilities:

    • Develop and maintain detailed baseline and live project programmes using Primavera P6 / Asta Powerproject / MS Project
    • Integrate cost, risk, procurement, and resource data into project schedules
    • Monitor programme progress, identify critical path impacts, and assess schedule risk
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and subcontractors
    • Ensure schedule governance aligns with contractual and internal controls
    • Support the Project Managers (PM’s) across the project portfolio in implementing the processes to manage and monitor project plans, project schedules, budgets and expenditures to ensure budgets are maintained and expenditure is controlled
    • Own and manage the administration of multiple core Project Controls processes.


    Experience:

    Essential

    • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
    • Sound planning and coordination skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
    • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
    • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite of programmes incl MS Project, Powerpoint, Excel and Visio
    • Ability to build relationships and work successfully with people at all levels
    • Ability to focus on multiple tasks at the same time
    • Ability to manage own workload to meet tight deadlines


    Ideal

    • Infrastructure project experience – Civil/Electrical/Mechanical
    • Experience in Document Management software
    • Project management qualification
