The successful candidate will be responsible for building, installing, servicing, and repairing hydraulic components while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, install, and commission hydraulic systems and components.
Diagnose hydraulic and mechanical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
Repair and replace hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, motors, hoses, and associated components.
Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
Conduct preventative maintenance and planned servicing on hydraulic equipment.
Pressure test hydraulic systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Complete service reports, maintenance records, and job documentation accurately.
Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and production teams to minimise downtime.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and report recurring equipment issues.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Previous experience working as a Hydraulic Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Plant Fitter, or similar role.
Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and components.
Ability to interpret hydraulic circuit diagrams and engineering drawings.
Experience with hydraulic fault diagnosis and repair.
Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence (if field-based)
