How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Futures recruitment are looking to appoint a proactive and analytical Data Business Analyst to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning data into meaningful business insights, improving reporting processes, and working closely with stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.

    You'll be responsible for analysing business data, developing dashboards, automating reports, and identifying opportunities to improve operational performance. This position requires strong SQL skills, experience with Power BI, and advanced Excel capabilities, including VBA or a strong understanding of Excel automation.

    The Role:

    Gather, analyse, and interpret data from multiple business systems.
    Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and validate data.
    Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
    Create automated reporting solutions using Excel, VBA, and Power Query where appropriate.
    Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that support business improvement.
    Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
    Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting processes.
    Support business projects by providing analytical insights and performance metrics.
    Document reporting processes, data definitions, and business requirements.
    Recommend improvements to existing reporting and analytical processes.
    Essential Skills & Experience:

    Proven experience in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or similar role.
    Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries and manipulate large datasets.
    Experience creating dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups, and formulas.
    Experience with VBA or a strong background in Excel automation and advanced spreadsheet development.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
    Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
    Experience working with multiple data sources and relational databases.
