How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Futures are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder to join our client's busy manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment where quality, productivity, and safety are key.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality welded components to specification while working efficiently to meet production targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    Perform MIG welding on mild steel components to engineering drawings and specifications.
    Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
    Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
    Carry out visual inspections to ensure weld quality meets company standards.
    Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area.
    Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to meet daily manufacturing deadlines.
    Report any defects, equipment issues, or quality concerns promptly.
    Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
    Skills & Experience Required

    Previous experience as a MIG Welder within a manufacturing or production environment.
    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
    Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
    Able to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    Good understanding of welding processes, materials, and fabrication techniques.
    Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
    Flexibility to work overtime or shifts when required.
    Desirable

    Welding qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
    Experience working with jigs and fixtures.
    Forklift or overhead crane experience (advantageous but not essential).
