We're looking for a creative and talented Graphic Designer to join our award-winning Communications team and help bring that story to life.
About the Role
As a Creative Graphic Design Officer , you'll play a key role in developing engaging, high-quality creative content that supports council services, campaigns and priorities. Working across both print and digital channels, you'll transform ideas and briefs into visually compelling designs that inform, engage and inspire audiences. From social media graphics and publications to digital communications, advertising campaigns and corporate materials, your work will help shape how the Council presents itself to residents, partners and stakeholders. You'll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, providing both creative expertise and strategic design input to ensure our communications remain innovative, accessible and impactful.
Responsibilities
- Develop engaging, high-quality creative content that supports council services, campaigns and priorities.
- Transform ideas and briefs into visually compelling designs.
- Create social media graphics, publications, digital communications, advertising campaigns and corporate materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation.
- Provide creative expertise and strategic design input.
Qualifications
- Holds a qualification in Graphic Design or a related creative discipline.
Required Skills
- Excellent visual design skills and a strong creative portfolio.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Experience creating engaging print and digital content.
- Understanding of branding, accessibility and audience-focused design.
- Strong communication skills and enjoys working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Brings fresh ideas, creative thinking and attention to detail to every project.
- Passionate about great design and motivated by the opportunity to create work that has a genuine impact on local communities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a similar role within a public sector or local government environment.
