We’re recruiting for a Resourcing Manager within a global law firm. This is a critical role within the Human Resources Team, responsible for helping allocate staff effectively across the firm in a way that balances business priorities, client demand, utilisation, career development and employee wellbeing.

The role
In this role, you will work alongside partners to design and implement best-practice resource allocation strategies, ensuring work is distributed efficiently across practice groups.
You will:
- Assess lawyer workload, capacity and capability to support new matters and projects.
- Analyse timelines, skill sets and matter requirements to identify the most suitable resources.
- Optimise utilisation by resolving conflicts, bottlenecks and competing priorities.
- Support, coach and escalate issues for resource consultants within the team.
- Build trusted relationships across the firm with lawyers, partners and stakeholders.
- Forecast future resourcing needs based on pipelines, growth and strategic initiatives.
- Help drive change, strengthen the resource management function and support integration across practice groups.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience in resource management, workforce allocation or a related field, ideally in professional services, legal or another fast-paced environment.
- Strong planning, allocation and optimisation skills in a high-volume setting.
- Confidence building credibility with stakeholders and introducing resource management into new business groups.
- Experience leading, coaching or developing others.
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to constructively challenge senior stakeholders and drive outcomes.
- Strong judgement, resilience and analytical capability.
