Midweight Interior Designer / Architect – Workplace Interiors
Location: Shoreditch, London
Working Pattern: Hybrid (Minimum 3 days in the office)
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Benefits
The Opportunity
We're working with an established, award-winning architectural and interior design practice that is looking to strengthen its London studio with the appointment of a Midweight Interior Designer or Architect who has a strong background in commercial workplace interiors.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking projects from initial concept through to technical delivery, combining creative thinking with excellent technical ability. You'll be joining a collaborative team delivering high-quality Cat A and Cat B workplace environments for a broad range of commercial clients.
The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary design team, you'll contribute to every stage of the design process, working closely with clients, consultants and colleagues to deliver innovative, practical workplace solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop workplace concepts from the initial client brief through to project completion.
- Produce workplace test fits, space planning layouts and presentation material.
- Lead or support the delivery of Cat A and Cat B commercial fit-out projects.
- Prepare detailed technical drawing packages using Revit, with occasional AutoCAD where required.
- Carry out site surveys, design reviews and project visits.
- Coordinate with internal BIM and visualisation teams throughout the design process.
- Attend client, contractor and design team meetings.
- Ensure projects are delivered to the highest technical and design standards while meeting programme deadlines.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple UK studios on a variety of projects.
About You
To be considered, you'll ideally have:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience within commercial interior design or architecture.
- Proven experience delivering Cat A and Cat B workplace fit-out projects.
- Excellent working knowledge of Revit gained within a commercial environment.
- Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.
- Front-end design and workplace planning experience.
- A solid understanding of commercial construction and project delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work directly with clients and consultants.
- The ability to manage your own workload while contributing positively within a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- SketchUp experience is desirable but not essential.
