How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Responsible to: Business support manager

    London hybrid (1 day in office)

    6 month FTC (3 days a week)

    The role

    RISE strives for a world where people , including children and young people, can lead safe,

    harmful behaviour is marginalised and fewer people , including children and young people,

    are victims of crime. In order to create safe communities, RISE empowers people to break

    their cycle of harmful behaviour. RISE’s programmes challenge attitudes and facilitate long-lasting behaviour change and are driven by the belief that people , including children and

    young people, can make better decisions, given the right support. RISE are specialists in

    designing and delivering evidence-based, transformative behaviour change courses within

    the criminal justice system and wider community.


    The Administrator will be part of the the Organisational Development Team; supporting

    Training, HR, IT and Finance. The post holder will be the first point of call to respond to

    external enquiries to RISE via phone and email. It’s crucial that the postholder is able to

    multi-task and has high attention to detail in oder to complete tasks in a timely manner.


    Key accountabilities:

    Office admin

    • Phone calls and emails – taking messages and directing enquiries to the relevant department
    • Liaise with office building reception to coordinate meeting room bookings & gather post
    • Manage general email inbox
    • Monitor stationary supplies and ensure office cupboards are kept tidy
    • Order staff ID lanyards
    • Scheduling meetings as and when required via Outlook


    Human resources

    • Monitor staff Disclosure and Barring System (DBS) checks, using First Advantage to submit new applications when needed.
    • Keep DBS register up to date.
    • When required by the HR Specialist, assist in scheduling interviews both in person and online
    • Research external job boards and post job adverts to assist in the recruitment process.
    • Liase with Agencies
    • Maintain training registers and assist Training Lead with organising training
    • Ensure all new starters are set up with training accounts
    • Complete occupational health questionnaires for new starters prior to their start dates
    • Chase employees for any uncompleted documentation, including policies to read as part of the onboarding process.


    IT

    • Coordinate IT onboarding for new starters, ensuring accounts, access, and equipment are set up.
    • Liase with our external IT department to remove access for leavers
    • Support specific projects as assigned by the Business Manager e.g Fixed Asset registers, Inventory tracking.


    Other duties

    • Assist with payroll as and when required by the Business Support Manager
    • Health and safety duties as when required


    Knowledge, skills, abilities, experience

    Essential

    • Excellent prioritisation skills.
    • A background in administration and proven experience of providing proactive administrative support.
    • The ability to work with minimum supervision as part of a small internal team.
    • Good written and verbal skills
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage conflicting demands and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work on own initiative.
    • Ability to stay calm under pressure.
    • A methodical and thorough approach to work.
    • Approachable, proficient and a good team player.
    • Strong organisational, grammar and communication skills.

    • Strong IT skills and experience of working with Word, Excel and Microsoft project skills.
    • A proactive approach to problem solving.
    • Accurate data management and input at high volume, paperwork checks and claim checks.


    Qualifications

    • Good general level of education including Maths and English to GCSE level
