How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Edition 169 is seeking an experienced and highly creative Textile Designer to join our growing design team. Working closely with the Head of Design and wider team, you will play a key role in shaping bespoke client requests.

This is a unique opportunity to work on exceptional residential, hospitality, and commercial projects across the UK and internationally, collaborating with some of the world's leading interior designers and architects.

The successful candidate will bring significant experience within the luxury rug and/or textile industry, a sophisticated eye for colour and composition, and a passion for creating distinctive, design-led products that push creative boundaries while celebrating craftsmanship.

    The Role

You will take ownership of projects from initial concept through to final production, ensuring every design reflects the exceptional standards, creativity, and attention to detail.

You will be involved in bespoke client projects, acting as a trusted design partner to both clients and colleagues. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical expertise, commercial awareness, and project management skills.

You will also represent the brand within the design community, helping to strengthen relationships with interior designers, architects, and key industry contacts.

    Key Responsibilities

    Design & Product Development

    • Create bespoke rug and textile concepts for luxury residential, hospitality, and commercial projects.
    • Adapt and customise existing designs to meet specific client requirements and project briefs.
    • Translate artwork, concepts, and creative direction into production-ready rug and textile designs.
    • Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure design integrity is maintained throughout production.
    • Produce detailed design specifications and technical documentation to support development and manufacturing processes.

    Client & Industry Collaboration

    • Collaborate with leading interior designers, architects, and specifiers on bespoke projects.
    • Present concepts, samples, and design proposals to clients with confidence and professionalism.
    • Provide expert design guidance throughout the client journey, from initial consultation to final installation.

    Project Management

    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept through to completion.
    • Ensure all deadlines are met.
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, design records, and development schedules.
    • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery and communication.

    Skills & Experience

    • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a senior design role within the luxury rug, textile, interiors, or related design sector.
    • Knowledge of hand-knotted, hand-tufted and hand-woven rugs
    • Exceptional understanding of colour, composition, scale, texture, and pattern development.
    • Proven experience creating bespoke products for high-end interior design projects.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept through to production and delivery.
    • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
    • Commercial awareness and understanding of the luxury interiors market.
    • Comfortable working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment.
    • Degree qualified in Textile Design, Interior Design, Product Design, or a related creative discipline.

    Technical Skills

    • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Experience preparing artwork, technical specifications, and production documentation.
    • AutoCAD experience beneficial but not essential.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Personal Attributes

    • Creative, innovative, and highly design-driven.
    • Passionate about luxury interiors, craftsmanship, and materiality.
    • Collaborative, relationship-focused, and team-oriented.
    • Commercially minded with strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Able to balance creativity with practical considerations and project deadlines.
    • Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to contribute to the continued growth and success of Edition 169.

    Why Join Edition 169?

This is an opportunity to become part of a dynamic and ambitious luxury design brand, working on some of the most exciting bespoke projects in the interiors industry. You will have the chance to collaborate with leading creatives and contribute to the continued growth and international success of Edition 169.
