How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Junior Graphic Designer

    📍 Widnes, Cheshire

🏠 Hybrid working – 2–3 days per week in the office

💷 Up to £30,000, depending on experience

Recruitment Chief is supporting an established consumer brand with the appointment of a Junior Graphic Designer to join its in-house creative team.

Our client is an established and growing brand within the fishing and outdoor leisure industry, creating innovative products used by anglers across the UK and internationally. An interest in fishing, outdoor pursuits or the wider industry would be highly advantageous, alongside a genuine enthusiasm for bringing products and brand stories to life through strong creative work.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with around one year of experience who wants to build a varied creative career rather than spend every day resizing the same banner advert until the end of time.

    You’ll support projects across:

    • Studio and lifestyle photography
    • Batch editing and retouching images
    • Packaging artwork
    • Branding and campaign materials
    • Social media and email assets
    • Catalogues, brochures and sales materials
    • Print and digital artwork

We’re looking for someone with a strong eye for detail, plenty of creative ideas and a good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

    You might be:

    • A recent graphic design or visual communication graduate
    • An aspiring designer with approximately one year of experience
    • A junior creative looking for greater exposure to photography, packaging and branding

You’ll need to be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Widnes, as the role will involve

working from the office two to three days each week.

A portfolio is essential, although this can include university work, freelance projects, personal work or professional experience.
