How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Join Metro – Moving Freight. Driving Innovation. Building Careers.

At Metro, we're redefining what great logistics looks like. Combining industry expertise with innovative technology, we deliver seamless global supply chain solutions across air, ocean and road freight, helping some of the world's most recognised brands move their business forward.

But what truly sets us apart is our people.

We're a business that values fresh thinking, encourages new ideas and gives talented individuals the freedom to make a real impact. Whether you're supporting customers, solving complex logistics challenges or shaping the future of our operations, you'll be part of a collaborative team that celebrates success and supports your growth.

Everything we do is built around our values:

    • Customer First – We build lasting relationships by delivering exceptional service and solutions.
    • Agile – We move with pace, adapt to change and embrace new opportunities.
    • Progressive – We continuously learn, improve and invest in our people.
    • Innovative – We challenge the status quo and use technology to create smarter outcomes.
    • Committed – We take ownership, support each other and deliver on our promises.

We’re looking for a highly organised, proactive, and delivery-focused Training Lead to join our People & Performance team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our teams are equipped with the systems, process knowledge, and practical skills they need to perform at pace.

You’ll work closely with operational teams, system specialists and Organisational Development to deliver hands-on, impactful training that supports business performance. This is a delivery-led role, focused on getting training out quickly, driving adoption, and embedding knowledge, rather than over-engineering content.

If you enjoy working at pace, thrive on delivering training, and want to make a tangible impact on how teams perform - this is your next move.

    What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our People & Performance team, your role will include:

    • Deliver practical, engaging systems training (CargoWise and other platforms) to support system rollouts, updates, and ongoing adoption
    • Work with CargoWise and system specialists to identify training needs and respond quickly with targeted solutions
    • Translate operational process changes into clear, usable training sessions that enable teams to adapt quickly
    • Support the rollout and embedding of new ways of working across operational teams
    • Deliver structured onboarding training for new hires across the UK and US, ensuring rapid productivity
    • Provide follow-up and reinforcement training to embed learning and close knowledge gaps
    • Support training delivery for graduates and apprentices, contributing to structured development programmes
    • Facilitate behavioural and professional skills sessions, supporting wider OD initiatives
    • Produce simple, fit-for-purpose training materials that support delivery (avoiding unnecessary complexity)
    • Monitor system and process adoption, identifying gaps and resolving them through further training
    • Build strong relationships with operational teams, systems experts, and stakeholders across regions
    • Act as a responsive training partner, ensuring training is delivered at pace and aligned to business priorities

    What You’ll Bring

    • Proven experience delivering training in an operational or systems-led environment
    • Strong understanding of process-driven operations (logistics/freight highly desirable)
    • Experience delivering systems training and driving user adoption (CargoWise experience highly desirable)
    • Ability to translate complex processes into simple, practical training
    • Experience supporting onboarding or early-stage employee development
    • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage operational teams
    • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • A hands-on, delivery-focused mindset with a bias towards action rather than perfection
    • Confident facilitator who enjoys engaging groups and driving participation

    Why Metro?

We believe in rewarding our people. Here’s a selection of what you’ll enjoy:

    • Discretionary bi-annual bonus – because your success drives ours.
    • Health & wellness perks – including gym discounts, retail offers, and more.
    • Health cash plan – supporting your wellbeing.
    • Octopus EV car scheme – drive electric, drive smart.
    • Free parking – no stress, no cost.
    • Respectful, inclusive culture – where your voice matters.
    • Training & development – grow with us, every step of the way.

    Plus, You’ll Enjoy:

    • High Impact Role – Directly influence how quickly teams adopt systems and operational changes
    • Fast-Paced Environment – Work at speed, delivering training that drives real business outcomes
    • Cross-Functional Exposure – Partner with Operations, Systems, and OD teams across the UK and US
    • Practical Delivery Focus – Spend the majority of your time delivering and embedding training, not over-designing content
    • Career Development – Opportunity to grow within People & Performance as the organisation scales
