About the Role:
We are currently looking for a Routine & Reactive Supervisor to join our team in Godstone. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating routine and reactive highway maintenance activities across the Surrey Highways Contract, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements. The role involves managing operational teams, monitoring daily activities, and responding to defects, emergencies, and customer concerns while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and customer service.
The Routine & Reactive Supervisor will work closely with stakeholders, clients, and operational teams to ensure maintenance works are planned and delivered effectively, contributing to the safe operation of the highway network.
Duties
- Supervise the delivery of routine and reactive highway maintenance works across the Surrey Highways Contract.
- Ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual obligations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Coordinate and allocate resources, labour, plant, and materials to meet operational requirements.
- Monitor team performance and ensure operatives are trained, competent, and equipped to carry out their duties.
- Respond to highway defects, emergency incidents, and customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Liaise with Surrey County Council, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve operational issues.
- Undertake site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of works completed, inspections, incidents, and resource deployment.
Person Specification
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience in a supervisory role within highways, civil engineering, utilities, or a related environment.
- Good working knowledge of highway maintenance, defect management, and health and safety requirements.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to reactive and emergency situations.
- Flexible, proactive, and approachable attitude with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
