How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Event Operation Specialist

Company: Major Global Tech Company Location: London, UK (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) Contract Duration: 6 months (FTC) Salary: Approx. £66,500

About the Role Join a global Community Experience team dedicated to driving employee sentiment across major international hubs. As an Event Operation Specialist, you will provide extra support at two of our largest EMEA sites following recent employee pulse surveys. You will manage the workload through our busiest time of year, running from September into the new year. This role offers a unique value proposition and portfolio prestige by allowing you to manage significant corporate moments and massive company-wide events.

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    • Lead the operational execution of on-site corporate events for 200 to 700+ attendees.
    • Direct on-site contractors to ensure seamless logistics and event effectiveness.
    • Implement and execute established event playbooks while providing on-the-ground expertise.
    • Handle event-related administration, including submitting vendor invoices and navigating internal procurement systems.
    • Monitor event budgets effectively and report on key performance metrics and operational outcomes.

    Candidate Requirements

    • 2 to 6 years of professional experience overseeing large-scale events of 400 to 600+ attendees.
    • Execution-focused mindset with a readiness to hit the ground running and manage day-to-day operational heavy lifting.
    • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills in a highly people-facing environment.
    • Meticulous attention to detail regarding financial administration, invoicing, and procurement.
    • Previous experience working for event production companies, large-scale hospitality venues, or corporate event facilities.
    • High flexibility to accommodate shifting weekly priorities, ranging from well-being initiatives to massive corporate gatherings.

What to Expect (Challenges & Environment)

    • The role demands operational independence and a proactive nature, as the current team is under-resourced.
    • You will need to navigate internal administrative friction, as procurement processes can be time-consuming.
    • Adaptability in budget management is critical, as you will need to scale your operations to match specific budgetary constraints.
    • Candidates with experience limited strictly to small office management or those who require a highly structured, slow-paced environment will struggle in this dynamic role.
