How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Your new company
The candidate would be joining a globally recognised engineering and project management consultancy that specialises in complex, high-stakes infrastructure and energy projects. The organisation operates at the forefront of the low‑carbon transition, supporting clients across sectors such as nuclear, renewables, transportation, and broader infrastructure. Known for its technical expertise and strong safety culture, it provides end‑to‑end services ranging from design and engineering through to programme delivery and digital innovation. Working here would mean being part of a highly collaborative, international environment where precision, compliance, and problem‑solving are essential, and where employees contribute to projects that have a lasting impact on energy security and sustainability.

    Your new role
You will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring environmental performance on construction projects, ensuring activities are carried out in line with environmental standards and regulations. Similar to an Environmental Advisor, the role involves regularly checking site activities, auditing contractor compliance, and producing clear reports on environmental performance and any incidents. They act as a key point of contact on site, supporting teams and stepping in when issues arise to ensure they are properly addressed. The role requires strong construction environmental experience, with a focus on compliance monitoring, detailed reporting, and a good awareness of ecological considerations.
    What you'll need to succeed

    • Experience working on live construction sites in an environmental role
    • Experience checking contractor activities against environmental plans, method statements, and regulations.
    • Ability to carry out site inspections, document findings, and produce clear reports.
    • CSCS Card
    • Ecology awareness - understanding of environmental regulations and basic ecological principles (e.g. Protected species, habitats).
    • A degree or qualification in environmental science, ecology, or a related field, though experience can sometimes outweigh this.
    • Driving Licence and Vehicle
    • Health & safety knowledge - familiarity with site safety standards, as environmental compliance is closely linked to H&S.

    What you'll get in return
Experience working on high-profile Construction and Infrastructure projects
Flexible working (3 days on-site as a minimum)
Ongoing support from an experienced environmental recruitment team
