How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    M&A Associate (and Vice-President)

    Carter Wahlberg, London (On-site)

Join a growing M&A advisory team where Associates work on live deals from day one, not just pitch decks. Our client is a well-regarded advisory firm executing sell-side and buy-side transactions in the UK as well as cross-border ones, with strong deal flow in technology, industrials, consumer and business services. This is a seat with genuine deal exposure: you'll be in the data room, in the model and in front of clients, working directly with senior bankers who close.

The team is lean by design, which means responsibility comes early. Associates here run their own workstreams, present to clients and see transactions through from first pitch to signing, the kind of end-to-end deal experience that takes years longer to get at a large bank.

    What you'll do

    • Build and own the financial models that drive transactions: valuations (DCF, trading and transaction comps), returns analysis and scenario work
    • Prepare the materials that move deals forward: pitch decks, teasers, information memoranda and board presentations
    • Run due diligence workstreams, managing the data room, coordinating information flow and distilling findings into clear recommendations
    • Sit in client and investor meetings from the start, contributing insight rather than just taking notes
    • Conduct market and industry research to identify acquisition targets, buyers and cross-border deal opportunities
    • Support deal execution end to end across sell-side and buy-side mandates, working closely with VPs and Directors

    What you'll need

    • 2-5 years of experience in M&A, investment banking, corporate finance or private equity, ideally with closed deals on your CV
    • Strong technical foundations: financial modelling, valuation and transaction analysis you can defend in front of a client
    • Sector exposure to technology/TMT, industrials or healthcare is a plus, not a prerequisite
    • Fluent English
    • Excellent communication skills and the polish to represent the firm with clients, investors and management teams
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field

I'm also working with several sell-side M&A opportunities across the region, happy to discuss those too.
