How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    📍Leeds - Hybrid

    📜Full-Time, 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract (potential to be extended)

    🪙Up to £40,000 per annum

    Due to a period of increased activity and demand, we are supporting a well-established business to recruit an experienced Employee Relations Specialist on a 6-month fixed-term contract to support their People function.


    This is a fantastic opportunity for an ER professional who enjoys managing varied casework, influencing stakeholders and providing commercially focused HR advice in a fast-paced environment.


    Responsibilities:

    • Managing a broad range of employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance, capability and flexible working matters.
    • Providing expert advice, guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations issues and the application of HR policies.
    • Supporting managers through formal employee relations processes, ensuring consistency, fairness and compliance with employment legislation.
    • Advising on complex and sensitive people matters, helping to achieve effective and timely resolutions.
    • Reviewing and updating policies and procedures in line with legislative changes and HR best practice.
    • Producing accurate case records, reports and management information to identify trends and support decision-making.
    • Working closely with the wider HR team to continuously improve processes and deliver an excellent people service.


    About you:

    • Previous experience within an Employee Relations Advisor or HR Advisor role with a strong employee relations focus.
    • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
    • Experience managing complex and sensitive employee relations cases from start to finish.
    • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
    • A proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload effectively.
    • Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience).
