Role Description This full-time, on-site Legal Secretary role is based in Twickenham, within the residential conveyancing department. The Legal Secretary will support two fee earners with day-to-day administrative and secretarial tasks, including preparing and formatting legal documents, managing correspondence, and maintaining accurate client files and records. Responsibilities include handling telephone and email enquiries, coordinating appointments, managing diaries, and assisting with the progression of residential property transactions from instruction to completion.
The role also involves liaising with clients and third parties, updating case management systems, and ensuring documents are filed and stored in accordance with firm policies and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth running of the conveyancing team and provide a professional, responsive service to clients and colleagues.
You must have some experience of residential conveyancing and legal work which includes the ability to carry out Land Registry searches, AML Searches, SDLT forms and dealing with client queries.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of residential conveyancing processes. (min 2 yrs)
- Skills in document preparation and experience supporting fee earners.
- Strong administrative skills, including accurate typing, file management, and attention to detail.
- Effective diary management and organisational skills to coordinate meetings and key transaction dates.
- Previous experience as a legal secretary or in a conveyancing support role (min 2 yrs).
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional telephone manner.
- Proficiency with standard office software and legal case management systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment and manage competing priorities.
- Relevant legal or administrative qualification is advantageous but not essential.
