How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A leading international law firm is looking to appoint a Non-Contentious Construction Associate (2–5 PQE) to join its highly regarded London construction practice.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value development and infrastructure projects for a broad client base including developers, investors, contractors, occupiers and public sector bodies. The team is consistently instructed on significant built environment projects and offers genuine exposure to market-leading work from day one.

    The Role

You will advise on a wide range of front-end construction matters, including:

    • Drafting and negotiating JCT contracts and associated construction documentation.
    • Advising on development agreements and development frameworks.
    • Preparing consultant appointments, collateral warranties, novation agreements, guarantees and bonds.
    • Supporting major commercial, residential, mixed-use and regeneration developments.
    • Working closely with real estate, planning, projects and banking teams on large transactions.
    • Providing commercially focused advice throughout the lifecycle of construction projects.

    About You

Applications are welcomed from lawyers with approximately 2–6 years' PQE who can demonstrate strong experience in non-contentious construction work.

The ideal candidate will have experience of:

    • Non-contentious construction law.
    • Built environment projects.
    • JCT contracts (essential).
    • Development frameworks and development agreements.
    • Consultant appointments and collateral warranties.
    • Advising developers, contractors, investors or public sector clients.
    • Managing matters with increasing levels of responsibility while working as part of a collaborative team.

Experience of NEC contracts or wider infrastructure work would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates who have strong construction experience are encouraged to apply, regardless of PQE level.

    What's on Offer

    • High-quality front-end construction work.
    • A strong pipeline of complex development and regeneration projects.
    • Direct client exposure and responsibility.
    • Highly competitive salary
    • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
    • Clear opportunities for progression and professional development.

If you're a non-contentious construction lawyer looking to join a leading practice undertaking some of the most interesting development work in the market, I'd be happy to provide further details in confidence.
