My client is a globally recognised energy infrastructure business at the heart of the UK's energy system. They are seeking a fully experienced Quantity Surveyor who is confident leading on commercial matters across projects. This role will suit someone who can take ownership from a QS perspective while also mentoring and supporting junior team members. You will be hybrid working travelling to the above listed sites weekly with 2 days working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on commercial management and QS duties across projects
- Provide direction and ownership on commercial strategy, risk, and cost control
- Oversee and support day-to-day commercial queries from junior team members
- Coach and develop individuals progressing through their career pathways
- Manage NEC3 / NEC4 contracts (Option C & E) across:
- Pre-tender stages (where applicable)
- Predominantly post-tender contract administration
- Drive:
- Change management processes
- Governance and reporting requirements
- Cost/value reporting and forecasting
Experience & Skills Required:
- Strong experience operating independently as a QS on complex projects
- Proven ability to lead commercial activities and influence outcomes
- Solid knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts (Option C/E essential)
- Experience in:
- Contract administration
- Change control
- Commercial reporting and governance
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
- Familiarity with FastDraft or similar systems, along with risk modelling expertise.
- Proficient in Excel, allowing you to manage data and reporting effectively.
- Ability to integrate into project teams and collaborate with individual managers and stakeholders.
