How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

At Powercargo, we're on a mission to redefine global logistics. As a rapidly expanding international freight forwarding and logistics provider, we help businesses streamline and optimise their supply chains with expert solutions across sea, air, road and rail freight.

Our services also include customs brokerage, warehousing, domestic transport and e-commerce logistics, giving our customers a complete end-to-end supply chain solution. With ambitious growth plans and a forward-thinking culture, we're looking for an experienced Multimodal Freight Coordinator to join our operations team.

This is a fully remote, home-based position, with all equipment provided by the company.

    The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced freight forwarding professional to manage shipments across multiple transport modes, including sea, air and road freight.

You will take ownership of shipments from booking through to final delivery, ensuring excellent customer service, regulatory compliance and efficient operational execution.

Working closely with customers, overseas agents, hauliers, shipping lines, airlines and customs authorities, you'll play a key role in delivering first-class logistics solutions whilst helping Powercargo continue its growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and coordinate international and domestic freight shipments across sea, air and road freight.
    • Handle both import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery.
    • Arrange collections, deliveries and transport with shipping lines, airlines, hauliers and subcontractors.
    • Monitor shipment progress, proactively managing delays and providing timely updates to customers.
    • Act as the main point of contact for customers, resolving operational queries and maintaining excellent service levels.
    • Prepare and review shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, CMRs, customs declarations and proof of delivery.
    • Complete customs entries using CargoWise and liaise with HMRC, Border Force, Port Health and other government authorities where required.
    • Handle UCNs, PIN releases, container releases and port procedures.
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with overseas agents, carriers, warehouse providers and transport partners.
    • Raise invoices, manage financial transactions and ensure accurate file profitability.
    • Assist customers with freight, customs and transit enquiries.
    • Negotiate supplier rates where appropriate and monitor carrier performance.
    • Ensure compliance with UK and international customs regulations, Incoterms and transport legislation.
    • Maintain accurate shipment records within CargoWise.
    • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and contribute to the continued development of the department.

    Skills, Knowledge & Experience

    Essential

    • Minimum five years' experience within freight forwarding.
    • Experience coordinating sea, air and road freight shipments.
    • Experience completing import and/or export customs clearances.
    • Excellent working knowledge of CargoWise One (essential).
    • Strong understanding of international freight documentation and customs procedures.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritise multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
    • Able to work independently whilst contributing positively to a remote team.

    Desirable

    • Experience working across multiple freight modes.
    • Knowledge of CDS customs declarations.
    • Understanding of post-Brexit UK/EU customs requirements.
    • Experience handling hazardous goods (ADR/IMDG/IATA), temperature-controlled or time-critical shipments.
    • Experience negotiating freight rates and managing supplier relationships.
    • Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade compliance.

    What We Offer

    • Competitive salary from £32,000+, depending on experience.
    • Permanent full-time position (40 hours per week).
    • 23 days annual leave plus English bank holidays.
    • Pension scheme.
    • Flexible working hours.
    • Fully remote, home-based role with all equipment provided.
    • Ongoing training and professional development.
    • Clear opportunities for career progression within a growing freight forwarding business.
    • A supportive and collaborative team environment where your ideas can make a genuine impact.
