Quantity Surveyor – Edinburgh
We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established fit out contractor based in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious commercial professional to become a key member of the team, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and contributing to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of construction projects across Scotland.
The business delivers a broad range of projects from refurbishment and fit-out works, working with both public and private sector clients. Projects vary in scale and complexity, offering exposure to a wide range of commercial challenges and opportunities for professional growth.
The Role
- Managing project costs from inception through to completion.
- Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Monitoring budgets and ensuring commercial performance targets are achieved.
- Supporting procurement and subcontractor management activities.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Producing accurate financial reporting and forecasts.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Providing commercial support across multiple projects while ensuring value and profitability are maintained.
The Candidate
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry.
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferred.
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
