The Role
You will join the firm's highly regarded Intellectual Property & Technology group, which operates as a core part of its international transactional practice. The team advises on all aspects of IP, technology, data, and commercial law across a range of sectors - life sciences, fintech, digital platforms, media and entertainment, and e-commerce. Work regularly encompasses:
- Advising on the IP and IT components of major M&A transactions, joint ventures, and strategic investments for global clients
- Negotiating complex licensing agreements covering patents, trademarks, software, and data rights
- Drafting and executing commercial contracts including manufacturing, supply and distribution agreements, outsourcing, and co-marketing arrangements
- Providing regulatory advice on AI and emerging technologies, including compliance with the EU AI Act and digital services frameworks
- Leading on data protection and privacy mandates, including GDPR and UK DPA compliance, cybersecurity and incident-response strategies
The group is often called upon for cross-border carve-outs, technology collaborations, and advisory work at the intersection of law and innovation, positioning lawyers at the forefront of legal developments in digital transformation. You will work closely with market-leading partners on strategic matters impacting global businesses.
What They’re Looking For
- Qualified lawyer with 2–4 years’ PQE at a leading firm (US, Magic Circle, Silver Circle, or specialist boutique)
- Demonstrable experience in transactional IP and technology law, including negotiating licensing and commercial agreements
- Strong knowledge of data protection regulation, privacy compliance, and emerging technology issues
- Proven ability to tackle multi-jurisdictional transactional work with commercial awareness
- Outstanding academic credentials and excellent communication skills
- Collaborative approach with ambition, versatility, and client-facing confidence
