How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    📍 Petty Pool Vocational College, Sandiway, Cheshire

    💷 £31,508.31 – £35,462.88 pro rata

    £39,385.38 – £44,328.59 FTE

    ⏰ 28 hours per week over four days, 52 weeks per year

    We are looking for an experienced and proactive Health, Safety and Medical Compliance Officer to join Petty Pool Vocational College.


    Reporting to the Head of Estates and Strategy, you will act as the College’s designated competent person for health and safety. You will help us maintain a safe, compliant and supportive environment for our students, staff, contractors and visitors.


    You will also oversee the safe management and monitoring of medication administration across the College, ensuring that our procedures, records and staff competencies meet regulatory requirements and support the individual needs of our students.

    Key responsibilities

    You will:

    • Lead on health and safety compliance, policies and risk assessments.
    • Conduct site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
    • Coordinate fire safety, emergency planning and statutory reporting.
    • Monitor medication storage, administration and record-keeping.
    • Investigate medication errors and near misses.
    • Provide health and safety and medication-management training.
    • Support managers with staff competency assessments and student healthcare plans.
    • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the College.
    About you

    You will hold:

    • A recognised health and safety qualification, such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
    • Evidence of continuing professional development.
    • A recognised healthcare, nursing or medication-administration qualification, or equivalent relevant training.


    You will be confident providing professional advice, working collaboratively with colleagues and turning regulatory requirements into clear and effective working practices.
