How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Academic Programmes & Events Officer

    London - 5 days onsite

Are you an experienced events or programme professional looking for a role that goes beyond traditional event management?

We're looking for an Academic Programmes & Events Officer to join a pioneering Academy function operating at the intersection of research, technology, innovation and higher education. This is a unique opportunity to work with leading academics, researchers, university partners and industry experts, helping to deliver world-class events, research programmes and learning initiatives.

This is far more than a traditional events role. You will be part of a strategic Academy team responsible for fostering knowledge exchange, supporting cutting-edge research collaborations, and delivering engaging programmes that bring together some of the brightest minds across academia and industry.

As the Academy continues to grow globally, you will play a key role in coordinating events, managing programme operations, supporting university partnerships, and helping to build scalable processes that enable the Academy to achieve its ambitious objectives. This position offers the chance to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment where curiosity, innovation, and continuous learning are highly valued.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Coordinating high-profile events, conferences, workshops and academic programmes.
    • Managing event logistics and programme operations from planning through to delivery.
    • Building strong relationships with universities, researchers, academics and internal stakeholders.
    • Supporting strategic academic partnerships and research collaborations.
    • Driving process improvements and helping to build scalable ways of working within a growing team.

    About You

    • 5-7 years' experience in events, programme coordination, academic partnerships, higher education or a similar stakeholder-focused environment.
    • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
    • Experienced in managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes.
    • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and external partners.
    • Comfortable working independently and bringing structure to evolving environments.
    • Interested in research, technology, innovation or academia.

    Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to work at the crossroads of academia, research and technology, supporting cutting-edge initiatives and collaborating with some of the brightest minds in their fields. You'll join a collaborative, intellectually curious environment where your work will have real visibility, impact and influence.

If you're passionate about delivering exceptional programmes and building meaningful connections between academia and industry, we'd love to hear from you.
