We are seeking a motivated Junior QS / Estimating Inputter to join my clients team, supporting the commercial and estimating functions within the aluminium glazing sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in aluminium windows, doors, and curtain walling who is looking to develop their career within a specialist and growing business.
Working closely with the estimating and commercial teams, you will assist with take-offs, pricing enquiries, software inputting, and the preparation of quotations for a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out quantity take-offs from architectural and construction drawings.
- Assist in the preparation of estimates and quotations for aluminium window, door and curtain walling packages.
- Input project information accurately into estimating and design software.
- Review project specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain material pricing and lead time information.
- Support the commercial team with cost analysis and pricing exercises.
- Manage and prioritise multiple enquiries to meet tender deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, estimates and project information.
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving proposals where appropriate.
Essential
- Previous experience within the aluminium glazing, façade, window, door or curtain walling industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and architectural drawings.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable
- Experience using LogiKal and/or TechDesign software.
- Knowledge of Technal aluminium systems.
- Experience in estimating, quantity surveying, design inputting or a similar technical role.
- Understanding of aluminium fabrication and construction processes.
