How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Firm

This Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked international law firm is recognised as one of the UK's leading full-service practices, advising FTSE 100 companies, financial institutions, investors, developers, public sector organisations and high-growth businesses across the UK and internationally.

    About the Team

The Banking & Finance group is widely recognised as one of the UK's leading finance practices, advising on many of the market's most complex and innovative financing transactions across a broad range of sectors.

Its specialist Housing & Transition Finance team is at the forefront of financing projects that deliver both social impact and the transition to a more sustainable economy. The team advises on many of the UK's most complex social housing finance transactions, alongside significant education and healthcare financings, acting for banks, institutional lenders, registered providers, public sector organisations and borrowers on market-leading funding arrangements.

Alongside its nationally recognised housing finance practice, the team has built a rapidly expanding Transition Finance offering, advising on innovative financing across digital infrastructure and data centres, renewables, cleaner energy, large-scale real estate retrofit, industrial decarbonisation, circular economy assets, natural capital, sustainable and synthetic fuels, agri-tech, climate-resilient food systems, water security infrastructure and flood defence projects. The practice also advises on emerging market impact finance transactions, supporting projects across EMEA that combine debt, equity and hybrid financing structures.

In addition to advising on complex financing transactions, the team works closely with financial institutions and other clients on wholesale funding programmes, product development and government and regulatory engagement, helping clients respond to evolving policy and legislative change.

    The Role

This opportunity is ideal for a Finance Solicitor with at least 5 years' PQE who is looking to take the next step within a highly regarded and rapidly growing specialist practice.

Working alongside leading partners and senior lawyers, you will advise on a diverse range of sophisticated financing transactions spanning social housing, education, healthcare and transition finance. You'll have the opportunity to become involved in the full breadth of the team's practice, supporting innovative projects across sustainable infrastructure, energy transition and impact finance while developing strong client relationships with leading financial institutions, borrowers and public sector organisations.

    Your work will include:

    • Advising on complex housing finance transactions, including secured lending, refinancing and development funding.
    • Acting on transition finance matters across a broad range of sustainable infrastructure and decarbonisation projects.
    • Advising on education, healthcare and emerging market impact finance transactions.
    • Drafting and negotiating facility agreements, security documentation and wider finance documentation.
    • Supporting clients on wholesale funding programmes, product development and regulatory or policy-related initiatives.
    • Working closely with colleagues across Real Estate, Construction, Corporate and Public Law on complex multi-disciplinary matters.

    Requirements

    • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 5+ years' PQE gained within a recognised Banking & Finance practice.
    • Strong experience advising on finance transactions, ideally including housing finance, real estate finance, project finance or secured lending.
    • Excellent technical drafting skills, with a solid understanding of transaction fundamentals and confidence working with LMA documentation and bespoke drafting.
    • Commercially astute, proactive and entrepreneurial, with the confidence to take ownership of matters and build strong client relationships.
    • A collaborative approach, with the ability to drive transactions forward and work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Experience mentoring junior lawyers and an enthusiasm for business development and growing your professional network.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join one of the UK's premier Finance practices, offering market-leading work, outstanding clients, excellent career progression and the opportunity to play a significant role within a growing specialist team.
