About the Opportunity
An established and growing construction contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Hertfordshire. The business delivers a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects across the residential, education, healthcare and commercial sectors, with project values ranging up to £10 million.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking to work on varied projects, take ownership of schemes from pre-construction through to final account, and contribute to the continued growth of a successful regional contract
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting managing the commercial aspects of multiple construction projects.
- Assisting preparing cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation.
- Assisting procuring subcontractors and negotiating contract terms.
- Assisting valuing and processing subcontractor applications and payments.
- Assisting managing variations, change control, and contractual correspondence.
- Assisting producing accurate cost reports and forecasts.
- Assisting monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Supporting project teams to ensure successful commercial outcomes.
- Assisting negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
Requirements
- Ideally 2-3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Experience delivering residential, education, commercial, healthcare projects.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts and construction procurement processes.
- Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Relevant construction-related qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent).
