How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Interim Employment Counsel (2–3 Month Contract)

    Location: Flexible / Hybrid

    Duration: 2–3 Months

    Day Rate: Competitive

    Start Date: ASAP

    Overview

We are seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to join a large, sophisticated organisation on an interim basis for an initial 2–3 month contract. This role will support the business on a broad range of employment law matters, working closely with HR, senior stakeholders and the wider legal team.

The successful candidate will provide commercially focused, pragmatic employment law advice across the employee lifecycle, with a particular emphasis on advisory, transactional and strategic projects rather than contentious employment litigation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide day-to-day employment law advice to HR and business leaders across a range of workforce matters.
    • Support organisational change projects, including restructures, reorganisations, workforce planning initiatives and employee consultations.
    • Advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions, including acquisitions, integrations, outsourcing arrangements and TUPE-related matters.
    • Draft, review and negotiate employment-related documentation, including:
    • Employment contracts
    • Executive service agreements
    • Settlement agreements
    • Restrictive covenants
    • Incentive and bonus arrangements
    • HR policies and procedures
    • Provide legal support on international employment issues and cross-border workforce matters where required.
    • Support remuneration and benefits projects from an employment law perspective.
    • Deliver practical legal guidance and training to HR and business stakeholders.

    Candidate Profile

Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent jurisdiction with significant employment law experience gained in-house and/or within a leading private practice environment.

    Experience Required:

    • Strong employment law expertise with a commercial and pragmatic approach.
    • Demonstrable experience advising on non-contentious employment matters.
    • Experience supporting restructures, change management programmes and workforce projects.
    • Knowledge of TUPE and employment-related aspects of corporate transactions.
    • Comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders and HR leadership teams.
    • Ability to manage a high volume of work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience within a multinational or regulated environment would be advantageous.
