How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

General Insurance Actuaries – AI & Reserving Innovation

    Location: London (Hybrid)

Miryco are partnering with a leading global management consultancy that is making a significant investment in the future of actuarial technology.

They're building a specialist team of General Insurance actuaries whose sole focus will be developing AI-powered solutions for reserving—not traditional reserving production.

This is an opportunity to combine deep actuarial expertise with cutting-edge AI, automation and software development to transform how insurers perform reserving.

    The role

You'll work alongside actuaries, data scientists and software engineers to design and build next-generation reserving solutions that will be used by insurers across the market.

    Projects include:

    • Developing AI tools to support reserving workflows
    • Automating actuarial processes using Python and modern AI technologies
    • Building intelligent reserving models and decision-support tools
    • Applying machine learning and LLMs within actuarial use cases
    • Transforming how reserving teams operate through technology
    • Working directly with leading insurers on large-scale actuarial transformation programmes

This is not a BAU reserving role—it's a genuine opportunity to shape the future of actuarial technology.

    Who they're looking for

Open to candidates at all levels, including:

    • Part-qualified actuaries
    • Newly qualified actuaries
    • Qualified Managers / Senior Managers
    • Associate Directors / Directors

    You'll ideally have:

    • General Insurance reserving experience
    • Strong actuarial judgement
    • An interest in AI, automation or technology
    • Python, R or SQL experience (beneficial but not essential)
    • Curiosity around how AI can transform actuarial work

Whether you've already built actuarial tools or simply have a passion for using technology to improve reserving processes, I'd be keen to speak.

Please note that if you do not receive a response within five working days of submitting your application, you have not been shortlisted for this position. However, we will keep your profile in mind for future opportunities that align with your skills and experience.
