How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role: Technical Support Lead

    Location: Greater Manchester | Office-Based (4 days) | Full-Time

    Salary: upto £50k + package

    The Opportunity

    We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join a growing technical team, providing expert support across product testing, diagnostics, technical escalations and field-based support.

    Working closely with the Technical Director, you'll act as the technical expert for the business, supporting both internal teams and external customers whilst helping improve product performance and reliability. This is a varied role combining office-based technical support with occasional site visits, giving you the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle from installation through to testing and continuous improvement.


    This position would suit someone with previous experience within EV charging, electrical products, electrical installation or technical support who enjoys problem-solving, working with customers and improving products.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide technical support to internal Technical and Customer Service teams.
    • Act as the escalation point for complex technical queries and fault finding.
    • Attend customer and partner sites to support installations, commissioning and technical investigations.
    • Diagnose and resolve faults across installed charging equipment.
    • Test new EV charging hardware, software and firmware prior to product release.
    • Analyse returned products and identify root causes of failures.
    • Identify recurring product issues and work with the wider team to improve product quality and reliability.
    • Deliver remote technical support via telephone, email and video calls.
    • Support installers with pre-installation technical guidance.
    • Assist with technical documentation, testing procedures and product knowledge materials.
    • Work closely with engineering, product and customer service teams to improve the overall customer experience.


    About You

    You'll be a technically minded individual who enjoys solving problems and delivering outstanding customer support. You'll be confident working independently whilst also collaborating closely with colleagues across multiple departments.

    You'll ideally have experience within one or more of the following:

    • EV Charging
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electrical Installation
    • Technical Support
    • Electrical Products
    • Renewable Energy
    • Electronics
    • Power Distribution

    You'll also have:

    • Previous experience within a technical support, service, installation or engineering role.
    • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
    • Experience supporting electrical or electronic products.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • A customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Full UK Driving Licence.


    Desirable

    • Experience within the EV charging industry.
    • 18th Edition Electrical Regulations.
    • City & Guilds electrical qualifications.
    • EV charging qualifications.
    • Experience testing hardware and firmware.
    • Experience working directly with installers or field engineers.


    Package

    • Salary up to £50,000 (dependent on experience)
    • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
    • Additional day's annual leave for every completed year of service (up to 25 days)

    Working Pattern

    • Office-based in Greater Manchester (4/5 days)
    • Monday to Friday
    • 37.5 hours per week
    • Occasional travel to customer and partner sites across the UK
    • Reporting directly to the Technical Director
