How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Designer – Experiential


    About the Company


    Our client is a leading creative construction and scenic fabrication specialist, delivering innovative build solutions across experiential events, pop-up retail, exhibitions, TV & film, branded environments and live events.

    Working with some of the UK's most recognisable brands and creative agencies, they transform concepts into high-quality, technically complex builds through a collaborative approach to design, engineering and fabrication.

    Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Technical Designer to join their expanding team.


    The Role

    As a Technical Designer, you will play a key role in the technical planning and delivery of creative construction projects. Working closely with the creative, production and workshop teams, you will transform design concepts into practical, buildable solutions while ensuring projects are fully prepared for manufacture and installation.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in scenic construction, exhibitions or experiential environments who enjoys solving technical challenges and delivering high-quality fabrication drawings.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Produce detailed technical drawings and construction packages for creative build projects.
    • Translate client briefs and design concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions.
    • Develop workshop-ready fabrication drawings and construction details.
    • Collaborate with production, workshop and project management teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient and cost-effective.
    • Resolve technical design challenges while maintaining the original creative intent.
    • Prepare designs for CNC machining, digital fabrication and 3D printing.
    • Support and mentor junior designers, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
    • Prepare technical reports and present design solutions where required.
    • Ensure projects are delivered accurately, on time and to the highest quality standards.


    Skills & Experience

    • Previous experience as a Technical Designer within creative construction, scenic fabrication or bespoke manufacturing.
    • Experience working within experiential events, exhibitions, retail displays, pop-up environments, TV & film or scenic construction.
    • Excellent understanding of construction detailing and fabrication methods.
    • Proven ability to produce workshop-ready manufacturing drawings.
    • Knowledge of CNC manufacturing processes and 3D printing.
    • Proficient in Rhino, SketchUp and other relevant CAD software.
    • Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
    • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects within a fast-paced creative environment.
    • Proactive, solutions-focused and confident solving complex technical challenges.
