12 month contract
£31.93 per hour (Inside IR35)
3-4 days per week on site (LA14) - Barrow in Furness
As an individual in the People Services field, the role holder will focus on the following -
Contributes to the development of and understands the IBP of the relevant business area. Identifies people and organisation requirements underpinning the IBP, with a view to driving enhanced customer value. Works with CoEs and the wider HR model to integrate solutions and to evaluate suitability to sector requirements.
- Embeds competitive practice, policies, frameworks, governance, education and supporting tools across HR domains in relation to a number of the following - (see competency table)
- Applies a developed understanding of line of business or sector engaging relevant stakeholders to implement change
- Supports the analysis of line of business or sector people data and feeds into the CoE, to benchmark and to implement short and long term solutions that improve performance, demonstrating value add
- Contributes to opportunities for increased effectiveness and cohesion across BAE Systems through enterprise-wide knowledge sharing, as part of CoE driven enterprise-wide steering groups and programmes of work
- Drives engagement with critical HR processes, with the support of by tools e.g. Success Factors, and positions (shares) communications, developed by the CoEs, with the business to enable people activities
- Helps broker high quality, precise and robust end to end support to internal customers
- Works across line of business or sector strategic leadership, management and other partners to deploy co-ordinated, business-oriented solutions

As an individual at this role level, the role holder is expected to -
- Advise and acts as a point of contact for employees and/or HR on their respective field
- Manage and resolves queries
- Report into the Senior or non-senior HR Lead or Partner
- First port of call for a number of aspects in the organisation
- Ensure queries are dealt with promptly and reliably
- Provide operational advice on a range of people issues
- Assist with monitoring key metrics and using HR information systems to input and compile data
- Operates in a manufacturing, unionised, project-based organisation
- Influence and coach others in line with business priorities
- Unlikely to have direct responsibility of budgets
- Work closely with HR Managers, Leads / Partners and Associates
Knowledge:
- Fundamental experience of HR policies and procedures, basic understanding of Employment law.
Skills:
- Operates in a manufacturing and/or cross functional, unionised environment
- Problem solver and solution orientated
Qualifications:
- CIPD Level 5 (or similar experience)
