Quantity Surveyor | Main Contractor

An established and highly respected privately owned construction contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across the UK is seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team for exciting projects in the Bristol area. They posses over 170 years of experience, specialising in quality new builds, extensions, refurbishments, fit-outs, and small works projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-value projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, education, healthcare, residential, leisure, and industrial developments.
The Role
Reporting into senior commercial management, you will play a key role in the financial and contractual management of projects from procurement through to final account.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans.
- Procurement and commercial management of subcontract packages.
- Assessment and certification of subcontractor applications and payments.
- Preparation of interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Support with extension of time and loss & expense submissions.
- Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities.
- Production of accurate cost reporting and cost value reconciliations.
- Building strong working relationships with project and operational teams.
- Ensuring effective commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidate Profile
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within the construction sector, ideally with a main contractor.
- Strong understanding of JCT and/or NEC forms of contract.
- Commercially astute with excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
