How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Warehouse Operative

    Location: Leicester, UK

    Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    Shift Pattern: 10:00-18:00


    Description


    As a Warehouse Operative, you would handle the goods and products in the warehouse. It would be your job to keep them safe and make sure they are delivered to customers on time. Picking and packing products as well as working as part of a team to hit timed deadlines. This role can be physically demanding.


    Roles and Responsibilities


    • Receiving, unloading, and sorting incoming deliveries.
    • Checking received goods against purchase orders and ensuring accuracy.
    • Storing goods in designated locations within the warehouse.
    • Picking, packing orders and dispatching orders accurately and efficiently.
    • Preparing orders for dispatch, including labelling and palletizing.
    • Operating warehouse equipment such as motorized pallet stacker and manual pallet truck safely and efficiently (Training will be provided).
    • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the warehouse.
    • Assisting with inventory counts and stocktaking as required.
    • Always adhering to health and safety regulations.


    Required Skills & Experience:

    • A driver’s license is necessary due to having to do some local deliveries
    • Previous experience in a warehouse environment is a must
    • Valid FLT (Forklift Truck) licence (Counterbalance – CB) is required
    • Ability to lift moderate-weight objects
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
    • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a small team or individually
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures
    • Good standard of computer literacy using email and warehouse system (Training will be provided)
